What does sustainability mean?
Our hope for $us•tain is to offer ideas, thoughts and perhaps methods that may enhance Humanity’s development of a sustainable world.
Our backgrounds include STEM, Business, Arts, Entrepreneurship and Finance. So, while a sustainable world requires a love of our planet and
all that it provides to us, it will require these skills and more to achieve.
Basically, people are far more likely to chose a path if that path offers a comfortable and fulfilling livelihood. Considering our world’s 6 billion + population, is there really another option to sustainable capitalism guided by science, technology and humanity? It is certainly not the only answer, but a powerful one.
So from the beginning, what is sustainability?

noun: the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level.
What makes something sustainable?
So uncontrolled consumption, with little regard to what remains after consumption isn't likely sustainable. So what does it mean to consume?
As a consuming world, there are the four basic components or processes that are necessary for any product use or consumption (‘use’).
- Harvesting of the raw component;
- Transport to the desired point of use;
- Use of the item; and
- Handling of any byproducts that may result.
Using this as the back drop, lets consider some thoughts. Please join us in our blog.
